Eggs

I remember reading in a psychology book once that a key to eating for cancer patients is that they don't eat many of their favourite foods when they're doing chemotherapy because they'll be throwing up a lot of those foods. Once they see their favourite foods coming up like that, it seems to be a psychological thing, that they often don't want to eat those foods again and it becomes difficult to eat much at all once they no longer like their favourite foods.

This past week I had a lovely experience like this. I'm still not sure what it was I had, the flu, food poisoning... something bad. My stomach is still a little weary of what goes into it. I don't know when I'll be eating eggs again or drinking coffee since those were the things I ate just before I got sick. I took these pictures a few months ago and I thought my little sandwich looked so tasty. Not so much anymore. :-/

Candied tulips

Earlier this week I watched that Food Network show, Alex's Day Off (or something like that?) and she picked up some candied oranges and lemons from the store. They looked really good. This tulip, which is a "Queen of Night" or "Black Tulip" reminds me of the candied fruit. We had a frost just after Mother's Day and all of the tulips looked like they were sprinkled with sugar. Mmmm...

The Flying Blossom

The night before this we had some rain or snow, or wind maybe - whatever it was, it caused this little blossom to fall. However, though it lost its petals, it didn't fall to the ground, but instead caught on the string of a spider web. It was swinging about in the wind when I found it and here is me attempting to capture it. (Most of the photos I took look just like the fourth picture down.)

Lately

I haven't been posting as frequently lately, though I have been taking as many pictures as usual, if not more. Partly I think that is because work has been getting more stressful and when I get home I rarely feel like being on the computer since I do that all day long at work. But mostly this is because my stupid, inexpensive memory card reader broke... Needless to say, I have a bunch of photos to catch up with. Lots of hiking photos and lots of spring flowers!! Soon I will have to do a whole post on my tulips. My mom and I really outdid ourselves this year with a variety of new types of tulips. You'll see sooner rather than later, I hope.

I see my path, but I don't know where it leads. Not knowing where I'm going is what inspires me to travel it.
